Children are constantly being bullied by other children. A lot of children who are the bullies are doing this to make them feel better because they feel like they are not good enough for their friends so they go and hurt others in hopez that it makes them feel better. They think that it is okay if someo.e feels worse than them in life. Another reason why kids become ullies at school is because they are being bullied at home home by their family. They do what they are shown by their parents and their parents want them to bully others so they will be tough. A child is molded to what their family and friends want them to be. This is where peer pressure comes in at, they want people to be happg or be proud of them. So they hurt others in order to do this.
The effects of bullying can be a lifelong treatment of counseling. As stated in the article, "there are well-defined risk factors for bullying that are individual and social. Beyond the immediate trauma of experiencing bullying, victims are at high risk of later physical and emotional disorders. Bullies are the generators of this trauma but also suffer poor long-term effects as a result of their participation." Children are being harmed by this no matter who it is, and it is getting out of hand where no no one can stop it. everyday a child is being bullied and ridiculed by how they look or where they are from, even with what they wear or how rich their family is. Times used to be simple but children are dying because of this. A child usually ends up mentally unstable or even worse, suicide. A child should not have to go through all this, they are young and should be enjoying the world; not have to worry about what is going to happen next or be looking over their shoulder every moment. Schools should be a safe place where they can see their friends and learn but schools are learning to watch children being bullied and try to stop it before it gets too far. They shouldn't have to do that, schools are there to teach. Not watch for the next bullying attack. I hope one day, we can get a handle on this.

I myself experienced bullying when I was in elementary school and a form of it when I was in high school. Being a bi-racial child, I had the crazy curly hair that my mom did not know what to do with and my skin was darker then others. We moved to a town that had two African Americans so we were the minority right off the bat. I was teased and it was hurtful but I was still young enough to not quite get it. In junior high I was bullied and actually brought a bee bee gun to school that looked like a real gun. I never took it out but was prepared to. In this day and age that would not fly, I would probably be arrested and taken to juvenile hall. Point being bullying is controlling our youth and this has to a change and I think the change starts in the homes. You are right, parenting starts in the home and the parents have the power to mold their children.
